before i start to put together the owls, i used brown and white cardstock to cut out the owl parts using my cuttlebug and quickutz owl 4x4 die shape. once i get the main body of the owl, a blue cardstock cut along the shape of the owl is used as base/backing of the owl. the blue forms the colour of the eye as well.
after that, i adhere the whites of the eye on all the owls with uhu glue. once done, i glued the wings on and inked the smaller white dots (which is the owl's iris) with black versamagic ink. you can actually use a black cardstock but for me it was easier to cut all the shapes in one colour and ink them according. in this way i can use scrap pieces of white instead of using a brand new piece of black or yellow (for the beak & legs) i did the same for the beak and legs with yellow.
with the wings, eyes and irises set and done, the last thing to stick on are the legs. they are the most fragile of all the parts of the owl.
To complete the entire owl bunch, i punched eyelet on them with crop-a-dile and string a piece of twine through.... TARAH! presenting.....
