i was blessed to be tasked to do a simple collage of photos for our cg's host family - the Loks! i have been wanting to try out this project ever since i saw it in an article by ali edward on creating keepsakes magazine. since i found no occasion nor space to do it for myself, this idea was the only thing i had in mind to do.
i got all the art supplies that i need - 24x30 canvas, acrylic paint, brushes and palette (borrowed from ed)
first i painted a coat of orange as the base colour for the canvas. it was left to dry for an hour before i painted the 2nd coat on
then the yellow was blended in with the orange and was left to dry for an hour before the 2nd coat goes in
started choosing the patterned paper and got the photos all printed in black and white. coloured photos might get a little complicated here. the whole idea was to have the core colours stand out. the photos are printed in 6R size (6x8) because the size of each photo after being cut should measure 6x6
all supplies out and ready to be cut and design work begins :)
this is just one of the embellishments that will go onto the canvas. there will be 3 circles forming a symmetry according to the 'law' of the triangle which i learn in scrapbooking techniques.
cutting the photos into 6 x 6 squares
just a rough arrangement to have a visual idea how it looks like
now cutting the transparencies 6x6, which i have printed in a local printing store. this will go on top of the patterned paper
Tarah! the transparencies are adhered to the pattern paper with the acrylic paint and uhu for the rest of the paper and photos and embellishment. the personal message from each individual made the border.
